Will I pay customs duties or import tax?

Last updated: 2026-08-20

Possibly — it depends on your country. Customs duties and import taxes are set and collected by the authorities in the destination country, not by us, and they are not included in the amount you pay at checkout.

What this means in practice

  • The carrier or the postal service may ask you to pay duties before delivery.
  • Many countries apply a de minimis value below which no duty is charged; that threshold differs by country.
  • Duties are the recipient's responsibility.

How to find out beforehand

Your national customs authority publishes the applicable rates and the de minimis threshold. Checking that before ordering avoids surprises — we cannot calculate another country's duties reliably, and quoting a figure we cannot stand behind would be worse than saying so.

If a parcel is refused because duties were not paid, it returns to us; we then refund the items. Return shipping and any customs charges incurred are deducted where applicable.
